MissionConnect has the country of Nepal to thank as the key to its very formation. Upon first training there with Base Ministry, MissionConnect President Mike Contreras first heard the “problem” which sparked this ministry into being. The “problem” was this: “how do we keep our young Christian leaders from leaving the field and never returning?”

This very question is now the driving force behind MissionConnect and is being answered by offering sustainability solutions not only in South Asia, but throughout our global reach. Because of the growing training relationship between MissionConnect and Nepal, we are now engaged in sustainability efforts in various parts of the region. Because of the security needs in the restrictive countries, we are keeping our focus on Nepal and will grow out from there. Nepal has a flourishing tourism industry, which makes it an ideal location from which to train leaders from all the surrounding countries – propelling a sustainable gospel impact in this needy region.
